Since 1972, Walden's tree-lined peninsula has been home to people from all over the world. While Lake Conroe embodies natural splendor, its origins are actually man-made. Construction of the 21,000-acre lake began in January 1970 and was completed in 1973. Five thousand acres of the lake are located within the Sam Houston National Forest.
In addition to the lake, a 536-slip marina, a breathtaking 28-hole golf course, a 16-court tennis facility, swimming pools, children's playgrounds and "hike and bike" trails are among the many recreational amenities available to Walden residents. Social activities, community events, athletic competitions and volunteer opportunities occur year-round -- guaranteeing an active schedule for those who want to get involved.
Walden on Lake Conroe is planned for 5,190 dwellings. There are estate homes, single-family houses, patio homes, townhouses, condominiums and a variety of commercial and institutional facilities including the Walden Yacht Club, Racquet Club, Fitness Facility, Golf Club and Marina.

Walden on Lake Conroe is a private golf club, open to residents and non-residents. Since its inception, Walden on Lake Conroe has enjoyed a reputation as one of the premier golf courses in Texas.
New 2010 GolfDigest ratings rank Walden on Lake Conroe as the 4th best golf course in Houston and the 11th best in the state.
Walden is featured on the cover of AvidGolfer Magazine in the July 2007 issue and we have been selected as #1 Golf Course in Houston by AvidGolfer. Walden was also selected "Most Improved" Golf Course, by Avid Golfer, primarily due to a number of significant improvements that have been completed, including new Tif Eagle Greens, new teaching facility with 2 covered bays and indoor conference area.

From I-45 and Hwy 105 in Conroe travel West on Hwy 105 approximately 12 miles and take a right on Walden Rd. Follow Walden Rd for approximately 3 1/2 miles.
